Theatre Museum of Iceland

The Theatre Museum of Iceland was established on 9th March 2003 in Reykjavík. It was founded as a collective effort by 27 organizations, theatres and cultural institutions in order to collect all kinds of theatre material, maintain a computerized database on Icelandic theatre history, and arrange exhibitions and educational activities. The Museum is a member of NCTD, the Scandinavian Centre for Theatre Documentation.

The Theatre Museum of Iceland gets its funding from the government of Iceland, from the Icelandic Parliament, the Ministry of Education and Culture and is supported by numerous public and private parties in individual projects.
